Hi! My name is Crystal. I live in Portland, Oregon with my husband and two dogs. I love dyeing yarn in my spare time and I love dogs. This is a way that I came up with to combine the two- all of my colorways are named for something to do with dogs.

Lilliput (aka Lily) and Rudy are both Cardigan Welsh corgis and I love hanging out with them. They always have tons of energy and love to play! 

I grew up in Anchorage, Alaska and learned to knit when I was 9 years old. My 4th grade teacher taught the entire class, and I'm so grateful that she was willing to share her passion with the class. I have stuck with knitting ever since. Around this same time my mom taught me to crochet which took me a little longer to pick up. Once in a while I still crochet but generally I stick to knitting. 

I also enjoy spinning which all started when I was in college. One day I walked into the local yarn shop in Moscow, ID where a spinning wheel was on display. I couldn't get that spinning wheel out of my head and soon after signed up for one of the classes they offered. My first attempt wasn't so pretty, but I wanted to stick with it and I now own a wheel and have greatly improved at my spinning. 

After college I moved to Portland, OR. One day I decided that I wanted to try dyeing yarn and started experimenting with food coloring and kool-aid dyeing. Eventually I moved on to acid dyes and started coming up with repeatable colorways and Lilliput Yarn was born.
